We always work with native translators who only translate into their mother tongue.
Work method
1. Preparation of the estimate
The first stage is when the client sends us the document(s) to be translated. Once a thorough analysis has been made, we do a count based on the number of words in the original text. We can deal in this way with the vast majority of formats: .doc, .rtf, .pdf, .txt, .xls, .htm, .fm, .ppt, .pps, .fm, .qxd, .jpeg, .jpg, etc. We then prepare an estimate and indicate the proposed delivery time.
2. Translation stage
At this stage we make sure we have the necessary resources available and provide the project team with any necessary support material for the translation: databases, specific terminology, reference websites, special indications of the client, etc. Throughout this process, a project manager monitors for any possible queries or incidents. For each of our clients, we create a database which allows us to maintain the specific terminology they use. We can therefore guarantee terminological coherence in all translations for the same client.
3. Quality control stage
In the quality control stage, an expert proofreader compares the original text with that translated in order to check for textual coherence, terminology, spelling and any possible omissions. To guarantee to the maximum the quality of the texts, we always work with expert translators who only translate into their mother tongue and are specialists in the subjects they are being asked to work in. We also give them clear instructions as to what we expect from their work and the results are subject to a continual evaluation process.
4. Desktop publishing
In the event that the client has commissioned a text of a more complex format (for example, FrameMaker files), we edit the translated text in order to make any necessary adaptations with respect to the final format. We thereby obtain a translation which reproduces the format of the original text exactly and is adapted to the requirements of each language.
5. Delivery, follow-up and feedback with the client
Finally, we deliver the translated text to the client, but our work does not finish there: we carry out regular follow-ups with our clients in order to check that the final product has come up to their expectations, and if not, we take the necessary steps to rectify the situation. It is very important for us to receive feedback from our clients, especially with regards to terminology, corrections and references in order to make improvements in our procedures for future translations.
